ONE MILLION MILES

2020-07-16

For every bike I owned I recorded the miles when I bought it, and when I got rid of it. I also recorded any miles put on rented bikes. When I looked at my records, I realized that I would hit one million miles this year.

I finally hit 1 million miles of riding today. I started riding seriously in 1986, and about 700,000 of those miles were on Harleys or the Buell and the other 300,000 or so were on other bikes.

This was in 50 countries.

I had hoped to hit that one million miles when I was traveling around the world somewhere. Well, Man Plans and God Laughs. Well, even though I am not currently traveling around the world, I still hit one million miles.

This 2004 Honda only has 126,000 miles, and my other current bike, the 2011 triumph tiger, only has 116,000 miles.

They say the first million miles is the hardest. Looking forward to completing the next million miles.
